Elderly Driver Charged..

So, the Elderly Driver who ran that red light and killed that young mother will be charged with Highway Traffic Offences: Failing to Stop at a Red Light and Careless Driving.

And the price of that mother's life?? A nominal fine and demerit points...

The burning question for me at this point is, will she finally have her license taken away? Or will she be able to pay the fines and get right back on the road again, putting the entire Toronto population at risk?

If she runs another light and kills another mother, or child, does she pay another fine and get to continue driving still??

Does it ever approach a point where driving -when you definitely should not be because of your age- can be considered negligence?

McGuinty doesn't have the guts to stop the Elderly from driving, and wants to put the choice to them. And they don't want to give up their independence because of the principles of it, so screw safety on the roads??

Lets have the courage to do what needs to be done with this one.
